$\Phi$ and K*$$^{0}$$ Production in p–Pb and Pb–Pb Collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Dudi, Sandeep (Panjab U.) /ALICE Collaboration We report recent measurements of $$\phi$$ and K*$$^{0}$$ production in p–Pb and Pb–Pb collisions at $$\sqrt{s_\mathrm{{NN}}}$$ = 8.16 and 5.02 TeV, respectively. The integrated yield and mean transverse momentum are reported as a function of charged particle multiplicity to explore the particle production mechanism. Study of strangeness production in pp collisions as a function of multiplicity and effective energy with ALICE / Ercolessi, F (INFN, Bologna ; Bologna U.) /ALICE Collaboration The study of energy and multiplicity dependence of strange hadron production in proton-proton collisions provides a powerful tool to understand sim- ilarities and differences between small and large collision systems. In these pro- ceedings, recent ALICE preliminary results are presented, which contribute to a better understanding of the strangeness production in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV. Multi-strange Ξ− and Ξ+ baryon yields are studied as a function of multiplicity and effective energy, i.e., the energy available for particle production in the event. Measurement of Azimuthal Correlations of Heavy-Flavour Hadron Decay Electrons with Charged Particles in P–Pb and Pb–Pb Collisions at $$\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 5.02$$ TeV with ALICE at the LHC / Naik, Bharati (Indian Inst. Tech., Mumbai) /ALICE Collaboration The ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) apparatus at the LHC is designed to study the properties of QGP (Quark-Gluon Plasma), a deconfined state of quarks and gluons produced in heavy-ion collisions. The study of angular correlations between the heavy-flavour hadron decay electrons and charged particles can offer information about potential heavy-flavour jet quenching in the QGP. Spin Alignment Measurements of K$$^{*0}$$ Vector Mesons with ALICE Detector at the LHC / Kundu, Sourav (Bhubaneswar, NISER) /ALICE Collaboration We present recent results on K$$^{*0}$$ polarization from the ALICE experiment at mid-rapidity ($$|y|<$$0.5) in Pb–Pb collisions at $$\sqrt{s_{\mathrm {NN}}} = 2.76$$ TeV and 5.02 TeV and in pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s} = 13$$ TeV. The polarization of the K$$^{*0}$$ vector meson (spin $$=$$ 1) is studied with respect to the production plane and second-order event plane by measuring the zeroth element of spin density matrix $$\rho _{00}$$. The Novel ALICE Inner Tracking System (ITS3) Based on Truly Cylindrical, Wafer-Scale Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors / Šuljić, Miljenko (CERN) /ALICE Collaboration ALICE is studying replacing its innermost tracking layers during the LHC Long Shutdown 3 with a novel detector that will be as close as 18 mm to the interaction point and will have a target thickness of below 0.05% X0 per layer. To achieve these figures, a wafer-scale Monolithic Active Pixel Sensor in 65 nm technology is being developed. [...] 2021 - 8 p. - Published in : JPS Conf. Recent highlights on open heavy-flavour production from ALICE / Wilkinson, Jeremy (Darmstadt, GSI) /ALICE Collaboration This work presents the latest highlights of open heavy-flavour measurements by the ALICE Collaboration in pp, p–Pb, and Pb–Pb collisions from Run 2 of the LHC. The nuclear modification and flow measurements of charm and beauty particles in Pb–Pb collisions are shown, as well as the latest measurements of non-prompt strange and non-strange D mesons, the multiplicity dependence of Λ+c baryon production, and measurements of heavier charmed baryon states including Ξc and Σ0,++c baryons.. 2021 - 5 p. - Published in : Nucl. Evolution of open charm production with event multiplicity with ALICE / Giacalone, Marco (INFN, Bologna ; Bologna U.) /ALICE Collaboration The study of charm production as a function of multiplicity is important to investigate the role of multi-parton interactions, color-reconnection mechanisms, and spectra modification in high multiplicity events with respect to minimum bias ones, and to dig into the possible presence of collective phenomena in high-multiplicity environments. Moreover, charm cross-section measurements in pp collisions provide a useful test of QCD calculations while measurements in p--Pb collisions are useful to analyze Cold Nuclear Matter effects. In this contribution, recent measurements of the evolution of the production yields with the event charged-particle multiplicity of prompt D-mesons and leptons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV are discussed. The results are compared to the $\mathrm{J/\Psi}$ measurement and to model calculations. Measurement of electroweak-boson production in Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions at the LHC / Zhao, M (Beijing, Inst. Atomic Energy) /ALICE Collaboration Electroweak W± and Z bosons are powerful probes of the initial stage of the heavy-ion collisions. The measurements of their production is important to disentangle the effects of initial stage from the effects of the presence of the quark–gluon plasma (QGP).
