/e/OS — a privacy-centric OS for your phone / Davis, Michael (speaker) (CERN)
According to a recent research paper from Trinity College Dublin, Android devices send substantial amounts of information to the OS developer and to third-parties (Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.) that have pre-installed system apps, even if these apps are never used. /e/ is a privacy-centric Android variant which aims to minimise disclosure of personal data to third parties. Probing BSM with the Higgs boson Width at CMS / Sarica, Ulascan (speaker) (Univ. of California Santa Barbara (US))
Many models of new physics predict BSM particles that couple to the Higgs boson. Measurements of the Higgs boson width are a powerful way to probe these new physics scenarios and are complementary to direct searches for BSM particles [...]

Probing the properties of neutrinos and the mechanism behind the baryon asymmetry / Harz, Julia (speaker) (Technical University of Munich (TUM))
With neutrino oscillations pointing us towards massive neutrinos, they are a clear hint towards physics beyond the standard model. With a bright and diverse landscape of current and future experiments, novel approaches are being developed to probe the nature and interactions of neutrinos [...]

Recent searches for Higgs boson pair-production at ATLAS / Leney, Katharine (speaker) (Southern Methodist University (US))
Since the discovery of the Higgs boson by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations in 2012, a major focus in particle physics has been understanding its interactions.  Tremendous progress has been made in determining the strength of the Higgs bosons couplings to fermions and vector bosons, but its self‐interaction has yet to be established.  Understanding the Higgs self‐coupling and the form of the potential function of the Higgs field will allow us to explore why the Higgs boson acquires a vacuum expectation value, and, critically, whether we live in a stable universe.  The most natural way to probe the Higgs self‐interaction is via searches for Higgs boson pair‐production, HH.     The latest ATLAS HH searches reported in this seminar bring substantial improvements over previous results.  In the case of non-resonant HH searches, results are interpreted both in terms of sensitivity to the Standard Model and as limits on the Higgs boson self-coupling.  Search results on new resonances decaying into pairs of Higgs bosons are also reported. The seminar will take place in "hybrid format" with the speaker present in-person in the Filtration Plant (222/R-001). Note that the occupancy is currently limited to 40 people due to hygiene rules.  If you want to attend in person you must register. First Results from MicroBooNE’s Low Energy Excess Search / Caratelli, David (speaker) (UC Santa Barbara)
MicroBooNE is a neutrino experiment that utilizes a liquid argon time projection chamber (LArTPC) located on-axis in the Booster Neutrino Beam (BNB) at Fermilab. One of the experiment’s main goals is to search for excess low-energy electromagnetic-like events as seen by the MiniBooNE experiment, located just downstream of MicroBooNE in the BNB [...]

Vera, ce que nous ne voyons pas A creation between arts and sciences, dance, theatre and cosmology, presented by Charlotte Philippe, Margot Bain and actor Gabriel Perez, imagined with the scientific complicity of Sandrine Schlögel (Cosmologist, member of the association PhiloCité). The show "Vera, ce que nous ne voyons pas" was born from the wish of the Hallet Eghayan Company to set up an artistic line around the theme "Women of Science". [...]
