Alpha-PET for Prostate Cancer: Preclinical investigation using 149Tb-PSMA-617 / Umbricht, Christoph A. (PSI, Villigen) ; Gracheva, Nadezda (PSI, Villigen) ; Johnston, Karl (CERN) ; Schibli, Roger (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH) ; van der Meulen, Nicholas P. (PSI, Villigen) ; Müller, Cristina (PSI, Villigen ; ETH, Zurich) ; Bernhardt, Peter (Chalmers U. Tech.) ; Koster, Ulli (Laue-Langevin Inst.)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate$^{149}$Tb-PSMA-617 for targeted α-therapy (TAT) using a mouse model of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-expressing prostate cancer.$^{149}$Tb-PSMA-617 was prepared with >98% radiochemical purity (6 MBq/nmol) for the treatment of mice with PSMA-positive PC-3 PIP tumors.$^{149}$Tb-PSMA-617 was applied at 1 × 6 MBq (Day 0) or 2 × 3 MBq (Day 0 & Day 1 or Day 0 & Day 3) and the mice were monitored over time until they had reached a pre-defined endpoint which required euthanasia. The tumor growth was significantly delayed in mice of the treated groups as compared to untreated controls (p < 0.05). [...]

Search for the $^{73}\mathrm{Ga}$ ground-state doublet splitting in the $\beta$ decay of $^{73}\mathrm{Zn}$ / Vedia, V (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Paziy, V (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Fraile, L M (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Mach, H (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys. ; NCBJ, Swierk) ; Walters, W B (Maryland U., Dept. Chem.) ; Aprahamian, A (Notre Dame U.) ; Bernards, C (Cologne U. ; Yale U. (main)) ; Briz, J A (Madrid, Inst. Estructura Materia) ; Bucher, B (Notre Dame U. ; LLNL, Livermore) ; Chiara, C J (Maryland U., Dept. Chem. ; Argonne, PHY) et al.
The existence of two close-lying nuclear states in $^{73}$Ga has recently been experimentally determined: a 1/2$^−$ spin-parity for the ground state was measured in a laser spectroscopy experiment, while a J$^{\pi} = 3/2^−$ level was observed in transfer reactions. This scenario is supported by Coulomb excitation studies, which set a limit for the energy splitting of 0.8 keV. [...]

Search for shape-coexisting 0$^+$ states in $^{66}$Ni from lifetime measurements / Olaizola, B (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Fraile, L M (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Mach, H (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys. ; NCBJ, Warsaw) ; Poves, A (Madrid, Autonoma U.) ; Nowacki, F (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Aprahamian, A (Notre Dame U.) ; Briz, J A (Madrid, Inst. The lifetime of the 0$_3^+$ state in $^{66}$Ni, two neutrons below the $N=40$ subshell gap, has been measured. The transition $B(E2;0_3^+ \rightarrow 2_1^+)$ is one of the most hindered E2 transitions in the Ni isotopic chain and it implies that, unlike $^{68}$Ni, there is a spherical structure at low excitation energy. Laser spectroscopy of neutron-rich tin isotopes: A discontinuity in charge radii across the $N=82$ shell closure / Gorges, C (Darmstadt, Tech. Hochsch.) ; Rodríguez, L V (Orsay, IPN) ; Balabanski, D L (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Bissell, M L (Manchester U.) ; Blaum, K (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Cheal, B (Liverpool U.) ; Garcia Ruiz, R F (Leuven U. ; CERN ; Manchester U.) ; Georgiev, G (Orsay, IPN) ; Gins, W (Leuven U.) ; Heylen, H (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst. ; CERN) et al.
The change in mean-square nuclear charge radii $\delta \left \langle r^{2} \right \rangle$ along the even-A tin isotopic chain $^{108-134}$Sn has been investigated by means of collinear laser spectroscopy at ISOLDE/CERN using the atomic transitions $5p^2\ ^1S_0 \rightarrow 5p6\ s^1P_1$ and $5p^2\ ^3P_0 \rightarrow 5p6s^3 P_1$. With the determination of the charge radius of $^{134}$Sn and corrected values for some of the neutron-rich isotopes, the evolution of the charge radii across the $N=82$ shell closure is established. We report on the development and characterization of the first radioactive boron beams produced by the isotope mass separation online (ISOL) technique at CERN-ISOLDE. Despite the long history of the ISOL technique which exploits thick targets, boron beams have up to now not been available. [...]

Inverse odd-even staggering in nuclear charge radii and possible octupole collectivity in $^{217,218,219}\mathrm{At}$ revealed by in-source laser spectroscopy / Barzakh, A E (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Cubiss, J G (York U., England) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England ; JAEA, Ibaraki ; CERN) ; Seliverstov, M D (St. Petersburg, INP ; York U., England) ; Andel, B (Comenius U.) ; Antalic, S (Comenius U.) ; Ascher, P (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Atanasov, D (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Beck, D (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Bieroń, J (Jagiellonian U.) et al.
Hyperfine-structure parameters and isotope shifts for the 795-nm atomic transitions in $^{217,218,219}$At have been measured at CERN-ISOLDE, using the in-source resonance-ionization spectroscopy technique. Magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments, and changes in the nuclear mean-square charge radii, have been deduced. [...]

Investigation of the $\Delta n = 0$ selection rule in Gamow-Teller transitions: The $\beta$-decay of $^{207}$Hg / Berry, T A (Surrey U.) ; Podolyák, Zs (Surrey U.) ; Carroll, R J (Surrey U.) ; Lică, R (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Grawe, H ; Timofeyuk, N K (Surrey U.) ; Alexander, T (Surrey U.) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England) ; Ansari, S (Cologne U.) ; Borge, M J G (CERN ; Madrid, Inst. Estructura Materia) et al.
Gamow-Teller $\beta$ decay is forbidden if the number of nodes in the radial wave functions of the initial and final states is different. This $\Delta n=0$ requirement plays a major role in the $\beta$ decay of heavy neutron-rich nuclei, affecting the nucleosynthesis through the increased half-lives of nuclei on the astrophysical $r$-process pathway below both $Z=50$ (for $N>82$ ) and $Z=82$ (for $N>126$). Precision nuclear charge radii measurements in the light-mass region are essential for understanding the evolution of nuclear structure, but their measurement represents a great challenge for experimental techniques. At the Collinear Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy (CRIS) setup at ISOLDE-CERN, a laser frequency calibration and monitoring system was installed and commissioned through the hyperfine spectra measurement of $^{38–47}$K.
