HI-TREX—A highly integrated transfer setup at REX-(HIE)ISOLDE
/ Berner, C (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Werner, L (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Gernhäuser, R (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Kröll, Th (Darmstadt, Tech. U.)
Transfer reactions are a unique tool to populate and probe the structure of nuclei. Due to its unprecedented capabilities in producing and accelerating exotic nuclei, the HIE-ISOLDE facility at CERN provides an excellent opportunity for transfer experiments using radioactive ion beams. [...]

Magnetic Moments of Short-Lived Nuclei with Part-per-Million Accuracy: Toward Novel Applications of $\beta$-Detected NMR in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
/ Harding, R.D. (CERN ; York U., England ; U. Nottingham) ; Pallada, S. (CERN) ; Croese, J. (CERN ; Geneva U.) ; Antušek, A. (Slovak Tech. U.) ; Baranowski, M. (Mickiewicz U., Poznan) ; Bissell, M.L. We determine for the first time the magnetic dipole moment of a short-lived nucleus with part-per-million (ppm) accuracy. To achieve this two orders of magnitude improvement over previous studies, we implement a number of innovations into our $\beta$-detected Nuclear Magnetic Resonance ($\beta$-NMR) setup at ISOLDE/CERN. (Manchester U.) ; Blaum, K. (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Borschevsky, A. (Groningen U.) ; Cheal, B. (Liverpool U.) ; Devlin, C.S. (Liverpool U.) et al.
Collinear laser spectroscopy measurements were performed on $^{69,71,73}$Ge isotopes ($Z = 32$) at ISOLDE-CERN. The hyperfine structure of the $4s^2 4p^2 \, ^3P_1 \rightarrow 4s^2 4p 5s \, ^3P_1^o$ transition of the germanium atom was probed with laser light of 269 nm, produced by combining the frequency-mixing and frequency-doubling techniques. Detailed spectroscopy of doubly magic $^{132}$Sn
/ IS610 Collaboration
The structure of the doubly magic $^{132}_{50}$Sn$_{82}$ has been investigated at the ISOLDE facility at CERN, populated both by the $\beta^-$ decay of $^{132}$In and $\beta^-$-delayed neutron emission of $^{133}$In. The level scheme of $^{132}$Sn is greatly expanded with the addition of 68 $\gamma$ transitions and 17 levels observed for the first time in the $\beta$ decay. [...]

Decay studies of the long-lived states in $^{186}$Tl
/ IDS Collaboration
Decay spectroscopy of the long-lived states in $^{186}$Tl has been performed at the ISOLDE Decay Station at ISOLDE, CERN. The $\alpha$ decay from the low-spin ($2^−$) state in $^{186}$Tl was observed for the first time and a half-life of 3.4$^{+0.5}_{−0.4}$ s was determined. [...]

Structural trends in atomic nuclei from laser spectroscopy of tin

Tin is the chemical element with the largest number of stable isotopes. Its complete proton shell, comparable with the closed electron shells in the chemically inert noble gases, is not a mere precursor to extended stability; since the protons carry the nuclear charge, their spatial arrangement also drives the nuclear electromagnetism [...]

Evolution of Octupole Deformation in Radium Nuclei from Coulomb Excitation of Radioactive $^{222}\mathrm{Ra}$ and $^{228}\mathrm{Ra}$ Beams

There is sparse direct experimental evidence that atomic nuclei can exhibit stable pear shapes arising from strong octupole correlations. In order to investigate the nature of octupole collectivity in radium isotopes, electric octupole ($E3$) matrix elements have been determined for transitions in $^{222,228}$Ra nuclei using the method of sub-barrier, multi-step Coulomb excitation. First glimpse of the $N=82$ shell closure below $Z=50$ from masses of neutron-rich cadmium isotopes and isomers
/ Manea, V. (CERN ; Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst. ; Leuven U.) ; Karthein, J. (CERN ; Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Atanasov, D. (Dresden, Tech. U.) ; Bender, M. (IP2I, Lyon) ; Blaum, K. We probe the $N=82$ nuclear shell closure by mass measurements of neutron-rich cadmium isotopes with the ISOLTRAP spectrometer at ISOLDE-CERN. The new mass of $^{132}$Cd offers the first value of the $N=82$, two-neutron shell gap below $Z=50$ and confirms the phenomenon of mutually enhanced magicity at $^{132}$Sn. [...]
