CMS muon reconstruction and identification performance of Run2 data / Jeon, Si Hyun (Seoul Natl. U. (main)) /CMS
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector is one of the 4 detectors at the CERN LHC to study the Standard Model (SM) and even searching for signatures of new physics produced in high-energy collisions in the LHC. As many of the signatures in both SM and new physics include muons, it is crucial to possess high performance of muon identification and reconstruction. [...]

Measurement of $t\bar{t}$ production cross sections in association with b jets and inclusive jets and their ratio using dilepton final states in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV / Hwang, Chanwook (Sungkyunkwan U.) /CMS
The cross sections for the production of $t\bar{t}b\bar{b}$ and ${t\bar{t}jj}$ and their ratio $\sigma_{t\bar{t}b\bar{b}}/\sigma_{t\bar{t}jj}$ are measured using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3 fb$^{-1}$ collected in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. Events with two leptons (e or $\mu$) and at least four reconstructed jets, including at least two identified as b quark jets, in the final state are selected. [...]

Search for supersymmetric partners of the tau lepton with CMS / Babounikau, Illia (DESY) /CMS
Searches for supersymmetry are presented that target direct and indirect stau pair production. The analyses exploit the final states with two taus of opposite charge and significant missing transverse momentum. The results are based on a data set of proton-proton collisions, recorded by the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 $fb^{−1}$ . [...]

Search for high-mass resonances decaying into dilepton final state at 13 TeV with CMS / Oh, Minseok (Seoul Natl. U. (main)) /CMS
A search for new high-mass resonances decaying into electron or muon pairs is performed using the full dataset obtained from proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV. The search exploits data collected by the CMS experiment in 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 $\mathrm{fb^{-1}}$. [...]

Search for Heavy Stable Charged Particle at the CMS experiment using the RPC Phase II upgrade / Goh, Junghwan (Kyung Hee U.) /CMS
Several theoretical models accommodate the possibility of Heavy Stable Charged Particles (HSCP). With improved data acquisition in the phase-II upgrade of the CMS-RPC system, triggering and identification of HSCPs are expected to be possible using the Time of Flight technique. [...]

Identification of very-low transverse momentum muons in the ATLAS experiment / Zheng, Zhi (U. Michigan, Ann Arbor) /ATLAS
The standard muon identification in the ATLAS experiment is optimized for muons with transverse momentum ($p_{\textrm{T}}$) above 5 GeV. However searches for low mass resonances and many B-physics studies often need to identify muons with lower $p_{\textrm{T}}$, where standard algorithms suffer from large backgrounds originating from sources such as hadron decays in flight. Introduction to flavour physics / Zupan, Jure (Cincinnati U.)
We give a brief introduction to flavour physics. The first part covers the flavour structure of the Standard Model, how the Kobayashi-Maskawa mechanism is tested and provides examples of searches for new physics using flavour observables, such as meson mixing and rare decays. [...]
