Flavour Physics: Old problems, recent hopes and challenges / Isidori, Gino (speaker) (University of Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland)
These lectures provide an introduction to flavour physics, with special emphasis on the subject of Lepton Flavour Universality (LFU). We review in particular the present hints  of LFU in B decays, discussing their reliability from a theoretical point of view, their phenomenological interest, and how they fit in the general search for physics beyond the Standard Model. Future prospects in this field, in view of higher statistics and new experiments, and the connections  with high-pT physics, will also be discussed.

Open Source and Containers: A Proverbial Chicken and Egg? / Estes, Phil (speaker) (IBM)
We know that containers as a technology have had quite the renaissance of hype, excitement and usefulness in the last five years, much of it fueled by significantly large open source projects like Docker and Kubernetes, shepherded by companies who provided significant brainpower to attack containerization in both Linux and Windows, as well as hard problems in distributed computing. But has the "cloud native" renaissance also had an impact on the growing involvement and importance of open source across the industry? In this talk we'll look at how open source and cloud native technologies, like containerization, have had a symbiotic relationship, and how open source has expanded beyond simply code on GitHub to more collaborative approaches around knowledge and technology in science, academia, and across many industries. About the speaker Phil is a Distinguished Engineer in the Office of the CTO for the IBM Cloud Platform, guiding IBM’s architecture strategy for containers and Linux. [...]

Dealing with JSON data in Oracle: DOs and DON'Ts / Hammerschmidt, Beda (speaker) (Oracle)
JSON is not a new data format but it is still gaining popularity in various aspects of data management - including databases. In this talk, Beda Hammerschmidt will give an overview about JSON, it's benefits, common use cases, dos and dont's and how JSON data can be queried, indexed, generated, and processed with the Oracle Database. Neutrinos and Warm Dark Matter from a cosmology perspective / Palanque-Delabrouille, Nathalie (speaker) (Irfu/DPhP - CEA)
The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) has been mapping the sky for almost a decade, providing crucial information on the dark universe through measurements of BAO (baryon acoustic oscillations) and RSD (redshift space distortions). As part of the SDSS BOSS and eBOSS projects, the Lyman-alpha forest survey is a rich source of information. [...]

What works and why? The 'Physics' of evidence-based science communication / Jensen, Eric (speaker) ; Gerber, Alexander (speaker)
Fundamental concerns about the effectiveness of science communication are being fuelled by ‘alternative facts’ and ‘fake news’. Simply pumping up the volume of science advocacy and marketing, has failed as a solution, and is even being increasingly suspected of being counter-productive. [...]
