Nuclear modification factor of electrons from open beauty-hadron decays in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN}}$=5.02 TeV with ALICE / Park, Jonghan (Inha U.) /ALICE Collaboration The ALICE Collaboration at the LHC aims at investigating the properties of hot and dense QCD matter, the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), created in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Heavy quarks are created in initial hard scattering process, therefore they are effective probes of the evolution of the QGP. Directed, elliptic and triangular flow of D mesons in ALICE / Trogolo, Stefano (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) /ALICE Collaboration Heavy flavour quarks, like charm and beauty, are sensitive probes to investigate the colour-deconfined medium created in high-energy heavy-ion collisions, the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). The ALICE Collaboration measured the production of strange and non-strange D mesons in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=~$5.02 TeV. Measurements of groomed heavy-flavour jet substructure with ALICE / Kučera, Vit (CERN) /ALICE Collaboration We report the first measurements of the groomed heavy-flavour jet substructure variables $$z_{\text{g}}$$, $$R_{\text{g}}$$, and $$n_{\text{SD}}$$ using the Soft Drop algorithm for charged-particle jets tagged by fully reconstructed $${\text{D}^{\text{0}}}$$ mesons in pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s} = 13\,\mathrm{TeV}$$. Iterative declustering techniques access the jet splitting tree of track-based jets, with grooming techniques isolating the perturbative branches. $${\text{D}^{\text{0}}}$$-tagged jets give access to an enriched quark-initiated sample of jets down to low jet transverse momenta ($p^{\text{jet ch}}_{\text{T}}$). Search for jet quenching effects in high-multiplicityproton-proton collisions at $\sqrt {s}$ = 13 TeV / Krizek, Filip (Rez, Nucl. Phys. Inst.) /ALICE Collaboration The ALICE Collaboration reports results of a novel approach to jet-quenching measurements in high-multiplicity pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, searching for broadening of the acoplanarity distribution measured by the semi-inclusive distribution of jets recoiling from a high-$p_{\rm T}$ hadron. Charged-particle jet reconstruction is carried out using the anti-$k_{\rm T}$ algorithm with $R=0.4$ [...] SISSA, 2021 - 5 p. - Published in : PoS HardProbes2020 (2021) 156 Fulltext: PDF; External link: Fulltext In : 10th International Conference on Hard and Electromagnetic Probes of High-Energy Nuclear Collisions : Hard Probes 2020 (HP2020), Austin, Texas, United States, 31 May - 5 June 2020, pp.156

Low-mass dielectron measurements in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Sekihata, Daiki (Tokyo U., CNS) /ALICE Collaboration The production of low-mass dielectrons is one of the most promising tools to understand the properties of the quark--gluon plasma (QGP) created in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. In this contribution, heavy-flavor ($\rm c\bar{c}$ and $\rm b\bar{b}$) production in pp and p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV and the soft-dielectron excess in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV are presented. Dielectron production in p--Pb collisions plays an important role to investigate initial-state effects due to the presence of the cold nuclear matter in the collision. Heavy-flavor production cross sections have been extracted from the intermediate mass region by fitting to the dielectron invariant mass ($m_{\rm ee}$) and pair transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T,ee}$) in pp and p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV, and the nuclear modification factor $R_{\rm pPb}$ as a function of $m_{\rm ee}$ is firstly extracted at the LHC energy. Results in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV with the reduced solenoid magnetic field at 0.2 T, allowing us to test very soft dielectron production, are also presented. An excess in the yields is observed at very low $p_{\rm T,ee}$ and the observed excess is described by neither hadronic bremsstrahlung nor thermal radiation.. 2021 - 5 p. - Published in : PoS HardProbes2020 (2021) 047 Fulltext: PDF; External link: Fulltext In : 10th International Conference on Hard and Electromagnetic Probes of High-Energy Nuclear Collisions : Hard Probes 2020 (HP2020), Austin, Texas, United States, 31 May - 5 June 2020, pp.047

Recent ALICE results on photon-induced $J/\psi$ production / Pozdniakov, Valeri (Dubna, JINR) /ALICE Collaboration The strong electromagnetic fields generated by ultra-relativistic heavy ions provide the possibility to study photon-induced processes at the LHC in new kinematic regions. Open and hidden strangeness production study via high pT dihadron correlations in pp and p-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Husová, Lucia Anna (Munster U.) Two-particle correlations in and are used to study jets, in particular, their particle com- position. While in Pb-Pb collisions this is done to characterize the quark-gluon Plasma, pp and p-Pb collisions serve as a reference and are of interest on their own for their input into the under- standing of particle production mechanisms.
