The CMS Pixel Detector for the High Luminosity LHC / Cassese, Antonio (INFN, Florence) /CMS Collaboration The LHC machine will be upgraded to increase its peak luminosity to $5\mbox{--}7.5\times10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ and to possibly reach an integrated luminosity of $3000\mbox{--}4000\;$fb$^{-1}$, with an average number of pileup events of $140\mbox{--}200$. The CMS experiment needs to be upgraded to keep up with the new challenges: the unprecedented radiation environment translates to the detector requirement of high resilience, while the increased number of events per bunch crossing requires higher detector granularity. Thus a completely new Inner Tracker will be installed. Design choices for the Inner Tracker Phase-2 upgrade, highlighting R\&D; activities and technological approaches, will be presented.. Beyond the standard model searches in the top quark sectors at ATLAS and CMS / Chatterjee, Suman (Vienna, OAW) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations Searches for new physics are one of the most active fields of research at LHC. Due to its large mass, the top quark is predicted to have an enhanced coupling with the fields of new physics in several theoretical models. Multiple techniques are developed to probe new physics using the top quark as a tool in different phase space regions. [...] CMS-CR-2022-145.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - 7 p. Upgrade Calorimetry towards high-granularity / Paganis, Efstathios (Taiwan, Natl. Taiwan U.) /CMS Collaboration The increase of the instantaneous luminosity during the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC, phase 2) places stringent requirements on the detectors. New proposed calorimeters have to be designed to operate in the harsh radiation environment at the HL-LHC, where the average number of interactions per bunch crossing is expected to exceed 140. [...] CMS-CR-2022-136.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - 7 p. Fulltext: PDF; In : The Tenth Annual Large Hadron Collider Physics (LHCP2022), Online, Online, 16 - 20 May 2022

Level-1 Triggering on High-Granularity Calorimeter information at the HL-LHC / Portales, Louis (Ecole Polytechnique) /CMS Collaboration The CMS collaboration is building the high granularity calorimeter (HGCAL) for the endcap regions as part of its planned upgrade for the High-Luminosity LHC. The calorimeter data will form part of the Level-1 trigger (hardware) of the CMS experiment, reducing the event rate from the nominal 40 MHz to up to 750 kHz with a decision time (latency) of 10 microseconds. Dijet events with large rapidity separation in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 2.76$ TeV with CMS detector / Egorov, Anatolii (St. Petersburg, INP) /CMS Collaboration The new search for Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) evolution effects is performed at the Large Hadron Collider by the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment. The cross sections for inclusive and Mueller-Navelet dijet production are measured as a function of the rapidity separation between the jets in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 2.76\unit{TeV}$ for jets with transverse momentum $p_{\perp} > 35\unit{GeV}$ and rapidity $\vert y\vert < 4.7$. Upgraded CMS Fast Beam Condition Monitor for LHC Run 3 Online Luminosity and Beam Induced Background Measurements / Wanczyk, Joanna Malgorzata (CERN) /CMS Collaboration The fast Beam Condition Monitor (BCM1F) for the CMS experiment at the LHC was upgraded for precision luminosity measurement in the demanding conditions foreseen for LHC Run 3. BCM1F has been rebuilt with new silicon diodes, produced on the CMS Phase 2 Outer Tracker PS silicon wafers. [...] CMS-CR-2022-144.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - p. Measurement of nonprompt and prompt $D^0$ azimuthal anisotropy in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}} =$ 5.02 TeV / Stojanovic, Milan (Purdue U.) /CMS Collaboration Heavy quarks are primarily produced via initial hard scatterings, and thus carry information about the early stages of the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). Measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy of the final-state heavy flavor hadrons provide information about the initial collision geometry, its fluctuation, and more importantly, the mass dependence of energy loss in QGP. Studies of heavy quark diffusion in QGP with nonprompt $D^0$ collectivity and jet-$D^0$ angular correlations in PbPb collisions / Stojanovic, Milan (Purdue U.) /CMS Collaboration Measurements of the correlations of the final-state heavy flavor hadrons are of great interest since they provide information about the initial collision geometry and its fluctuation. More importantly, those measurements could reveal the mass dependence of parton energy loss and quark diffusion in the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). [...] CMS-CR-2022-140.- Geneva : CERN, 2022 - 7 p.
