Comparative evaluation of analogue front-end designs for the CMS Inner Tracker at the High Luminosity LHC / Emriskova, Natalia (CERN)
The CMS Inner Tracker, made of silicon pixel modules, will be entirely replaced for the operation at the High Luminosity LHC. One of the crucial components of the new Inner Tracker system is the readout chip, being developed by the RD53 Collaboration, and in particular its analogue front-end that receives the signal from the sensor and digitizes it. Test beam characterization of sensor prototypes for the CMS Barrel MIP Timing Detector / CMS MTD collaboration
The MIP Timing Detector will provide additional timing capabilities for detection of minimum ionizing particles (MIPs) at CMS during the High Luminosity LHC era, improving event reconstruction and pileup rejection. The central portion of the detector, the Barrel Timing Layer (BTL), will be instrumented with LYSO:Ce crystals and Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) providing a time resolution of about 30~ps at the beginning of operation, and degrading to 50-60~ps at the end of the detector lifetime as a result of radiation damage. Evolution of the CMS Computing Model towards Phase-2 / CMS Offline Software ; Computing
The success of the physics program of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment critically depends on the availability of sufficient computing resources to store, process, and analyze data efficiently. The luminosity of HL-LHC and the upgraded detector promise scientific results of great impact [...]

The CMS Phase-1 Pixel Detector Upgrade / The Tracker Group of the CMS Collaboration /CMS Collaboration
The CMS detector at the CERN LHC features a silicon pixel detector as its innermost subdetector. The original CMS pixel detector has been replaced with an upgraded pixel system (CMS Phase-1 pixel detector) in the extended year-end technical stop of the LHC in 2016/2017. [...]

Test beam results of irradiated single-crystal CVD diamond detectors at DESY-II / Bossini, Edoardo (INFN, Pisa) ; Figueiredo, Diego Matos (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Forthomme, Laurent Marie C (Helsinki U.) ; Garcia Fuentes, Francisco Ignacio (Helsinki Inst. of Phys.)
Sensors based on scCVD diamonds have been operated in the Precision Proton Spectrometer (PPS) of the CMS experiment during the LHC Run 2. Such sensors were used for the timing system of PPS and were hosted in the Roman Pots (RPs), movable devices allowing to bring the detectors inside the LHC beam pipe, at few millimeters from the beams. A closer collaboration between HEP Experiments and HPC centers / CMS Offline Software ; Computing
This document offers the technical view of the CMS Experiment on the requirements and desired capabilities when planning to run its data processing workflows on HPC systems. It should serve as a help for the first handshaking with HPC sites, to understand the best direction towards a more widespread utilization of such systems for HEP processing..

HPC resources integration at CMS / CMS Offline Software ; Computing
This document identifies minimal set of requirements on HPC based resources in order to run CMS workflows: it is meant to sketch the strategy for an effective exploitation of such machines. It describes possible ways to use HPC machines for any type of workflows, including data reconstruction and Monte Carlo digitisation and reconstruction, besides Monte Carlo generation and simulation, which would represent little value overall if considered alone. The Phase-2 Upgrade of the CMS Beam Radiation, Instrumentation, and Luminosity Detectors: Conceptual Design / The CMS Collaboration /CMS Collaboration
The CMS Beam Radiation, Instrumentation, and Luminosity (BRIL) project is responsible for a number of detector systems that measure the luminosity, beam conditions, and radiation products produced by the LHC at the CMS detector. This Conceptual Design outlines plans for the Phase-2 BRIL upgrade to ensure reliable measurements of these quantities in the HL-LHC environment. [...]

A new CMS tracker detector will be installed for operation at the High Luminosity LHC\,(HL-LHC). This detector comprises modules with two closely spaced parallel sensor plates and front-end ASICs capable of transmitting tracking information to the CMS Level-1\,(L1) trigger at the 40\,MHz beam crossing rate. The high instantaneous luminosities expected following the upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) pose major experimental challenges for the CMS experiment. A central component to allow efficient operation under these conditions is the reconstruction of charged particle trajectories and their inclusion in the hardware-based trigger system. [...]
