Recent ALICE results on $\psi$(2S) production / Scomparin, Enrico (speaker) (Universita e INFN Torino (IT))
Quarkonia represent a key observable for our understanding of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) properties, and more generally for the investigation of the QCD color force in a strongly interacting environment. In heavy-ion collisions at LHC energy, significant suppression and regeneration effects were observed and analyzed in detail for the J/$\psi$. [...]

The use of Micro-Pattern Technologies in Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors / De Oliveira, Rui (speaker) (CERN)
The construction of Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors (MPGD) is the main focus of the Micro-Pattern Technologies (MPT) workshop at CERN. After a brief introduction to the activities of the MPT workshop, the presentation will retrace the technological developments for three different types of MPGDs that made it possible to obtain such detectors, which are now deployed on a large scale in particle physics experiments. The First example presented will be GEM detectors, where the step of going from a photoimageable polyimide, used in micro-electronics to passivate integrated circuits, to a particle detector able to operate more efficiently than wire chambers in the very harsh and challenging environment of high-energy physics experiments. The second example retraces the path followed to go from a stainless steel grid, used for screen printing of patterns on textiles or posters, to the production of MicroMegas detectors, used for example for the New Small Wheels (NSW) of the ATLAS experiment. The last example will deal with µ-Rwell detectors, a technology initially abandoned as soon as it appeared after the development of GEMs in 1998, but which is now revealing its full potential after being neglected for more than 20 years. Towards a Dynamic Production of Global Land Cover Maps / Sedona, Rocco (speaker) (Forschungszentrum Jülich)
Land cover (LC) maps are a fundamental tool in a variety of fields such as climatology, ecology and geography, as their availability is crucial for the analysis of trends and recognition of patterns of phenomena that occur on the Earth’s surface. The dense Time Series of images with a worldwide coverage provided by current satellite missions allow the dynamic production of LC maps, and several methods have been recently proposed to generate maps at country, continental or global scale. Non-conventional radionuclides in personalised medicine / Stora, Thierry (speaker) (CERN)
Abstract:Nuclear Medicine, and more particularly the so-called theranostics approach based on the combination of diagnostics and treatment drugs, has seen recent breakthroughs, originating from radionuclides made newly available notably for European academic and industrial R&D scientists.A striking example is the use of targeted radiopharmaceuticals directed to the Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) and Somatostatin Receptor targeted therapy with 177Lu beta-emitter. Alpha-emitting radionuclides have also been applied successfully in research and clinic. [...]

Computing bulk microstates / Lee, Ji Hoon (speaker) (Perimeter Institute)
A central question in AdS/CFT is how the string degrees of freedom are organized in the dual gauge theory. In my talk, I present an exact formula that relates the BPS sectors of U(N) gauge theories and their string duals [...]

Laser resonance ionization at ISOL facilities / Marsh, Bruce (speaker) (CERN)
Abstract:Radioisotopes science is a broad-reaching field encompassing topics such as atomic and nuclear physics, astrophysics, medical applications and material science.  Although some radioisotopes are naturally occurring on Earth the vast majority are available to us exclusively via artificial production in nuclear reactions [...]

Principles of radioisotope production with ISOL techniques, materials and ion sources / Rothe, Sebastian (speaker) (CERN)
Abstract: The ISOLDE radioactive isotope facility has been providing rare isotopes to users from around the world since more than 50 years, making it the oldest running experiment at CERN and is considered the mother of ISOL type facilities. In the ISOL method, a target is irradiated with a primary beam, creating secondary radioactive isotopes which are evaporated from the target matrix, extracted as ions, purified and then delivered in form of a beam of ions to the experimental setup. The interest of the scientists requesting these isotopes ranges from fundamental nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics, over solid state physics and semiconductor research to medical applications. At ISOLDE over 1000 different radioisotopes of the 6000 that are predicted to exist In this lecture we will introduce how isotopes are artificially created and delivered to users at ISOLDE.  We will discuss the constraints and requirements to the target materials and ion source selection, illustrated by several use cases We will highlighting current developments towards tailor-made nano-structured target materials and ongoing target and ion source developments required to meet the demands of the user community for more exotic isotopes and purer beams. The following two lectures will focus on selective laser photoionization used to produce purest radioisotope beams and application of radioisotopes for nuclear medicine..

Citus Data: The database distributed without complex / Villemain, Cédric (speaker) (Data Bene)
Interested in the issues of High Availability and Quality of Service, he contributes to the various projects he uses and promotes. Citus Data is an extension of PostgreSQL that extends this famous relational database server to design distributed databases. Distributed calculations, multi-tenant with isolated customers, resharding without downtime, ... If this already sounds familiar, you'll learn more. And if not, you will finally know what a multi-tenant architecture is.. [...]
